As a pioneering force in India’s renewable energy journey, ReNew's decision to venture into solar module manufacturing in 2021 aligned seamlessly with its commitment to become a global decarbonisation solutions provider. By establishing its solar manufacturing operations domestically, ReNew is not only bolstering India’s manufacturing sector but also stepping up its decarbonization efforts.

The commissioning of our two module manufacturing plants in Jaipur, Rajasthan in 2023 and Dholera, Gujarat in 2024 marks a significant stride towards fostering Atmanirbhar Bharat. The total manufacturing capacity of 6.4 GW modules and backward integration of 2.5 GW cells adds to ReNew’s contribution to making India a global supply chain hub for renewable energy.

Introducing our Jaipur Manufacturing Plant

Built across a sprawling area of 22 acres, our Jaipur manufacturing plant houses a total capacity of 4 GW under one roof. This is one of the largest in the country. It is also one of the first plant to be commissioned under the PLI program of Government of India for solar manufacturing. It is designed to produce some of the most efficient solar modules in the market and create over 1400 direct jobs. With our plant’s production capacity of around 15,000 modules per day, we are setting new benchmarks in the industry.

ReNew’s solar manufacturing facility in Jaipur is equipped with a comprehensive quality control process, enabling our products to achieve top efficiency ratings.

Here is a peek at the plant’s manufacturing and quality control process.

How are our modules made?

The manufacturing process begins with a zero-waste laser cutter and then progresses seamlessly to a robotic arm glass loader.

Once the encapsulants* are loaded, a solar stringer is used for soldering the cells together. Soldering is what enables the photovoltaic module to transmit electricity, making this step of the process one of the most sensitive ones. Our team of highly qualified engineers take extreme care to ensure that cells are well connected with each other to avoid any power loss. This stage is succeeded by lay-up, auto- bussing, auto- taping, back sheet loading and back glass loading. At every stage, we carry out several defect inspections such as mirror and EL inspections, to validate the reliability of our modules. This ensures that our solar panels are free from defects like micro-cracks or faulty soldering. We use specialized cameras at our Jaipur plant to detect minor defects and produce only high-quality panels.

In the last and final leg of the manufacturing process of solar modules we conduct further inspections like IV characterization, Hi-Pot (High Potential) testing, another round of EL evaluation followed by a rigorous 360 inspection (final quality check). Then the final products are sorted, graded and packed for dispatch.

Our Diverse portfolio of high efficiency solar panels

With a combined capacity of 6.4 GW modules which are compatible with PERC (Passivated Emitter Rear Contact) and TOPCon (Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact) technologies, we specialize in a diverse array of high-efficiency modules. Our product offerings include

·      M10 144 cell Bifacial and Monofacial solar modules

·      G-12 132, G12 120 cell Bifacial and Monofacial solar modules

Meticulously engineered to incorporate features such as hotspot resistance, micro-cracking resistance, and enhanced power output in weak light conditions during early morning, sunset, or cloudy days our panels are ideal for large-scale utility and ground mount projects. These modules are also built to withstand weather stress, ensuring minimal damage over time.

Our modules offer an efficiency up to 21.68% with power range up to 560 Wp. (PERC)
