Give To Gain

This International Women’s Day, as we embrace the theme ‘Give to Gain,’ we also echo the call of the 9th Gender Equality Summit — ‘Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls.’ Together, these themes remind us that advancing gender equality requires more than intention—it calls for meaningful action. Each of us can contribute by offering support, creating opportunities, sharing knowledge, amplifying voices, and practicing allyship. Because when we give with purpose and work collaboratively, we move closer to a world that ensures dignity, justice, and equal opportunity for every woman and girl. And in doing so, we build a stronger, fairer, and more equitable world for all.

At ReNew, we align our efforts to build a gender inclusive environment by focusing on three areas. First, we walk the talk by implementing initiatives on the ground to empower women and to facilitate their personal and professional development. Second, we’re establishing an inclusive, gender-equal environment within ReNew by implementing enabling policies to ensure that each individual at ReNew can contribute to their fullest potential. Third, we use our voice in advertising and media to challenge gender bias in workplaces and society in large.

Frequently Asked Questions

International Women’s Day, observed globally on 8th March, celebrates women’s achievements across social, economic, cultural, and political spheres. Recognised by the United Nations since 1977, the day underscores the urgent need for gender equality, women’s representation, and inclusive opportunities. It serves as a global call to action -urging societies everywhere to accelerate the journey towards a fair and equitable world for all.

The theme for IWD 2026 is “Give To Gain”. This aim is to focus on the power of generosity, collaboration, and shared progress. It encourages individuals, organisations, and communities to lift one another through support, allyship, and opportunities. The message is simple yet transformative: when we give, we create space for women to grow, thrive, and lead.

In 2026, the International Women's Day conversations highlight the importance of advancing justice and legal rights. The dialogue emphasizes addressing barriers that limit women’s opportunities and ensuring that legal systems actively support women’s safety, autonomy, and equal opportunity.

Organisations can play a significant role in championing women’s rights, gender equality, and workplace inclusion. Meaningful ways to support IWD include:
Hosting events, workshops, or talks on women’s leadership and gender equality
Partnering with women-focused charities or initiatives
Organising fundraising, volunteering, or community outreach activities
Encouraging open conversations about diversity, allyship, and inclusive policies
These actions help create workplaces where women feel supported, valued, and empowered.

The official colours of International Women’s Day are purple, green, and white:
Purple – symbolises justice, dignity, and a commitment to equality
Green – represents hope and renewal
White – historically linked with purity, though interpreted differently today
These colours trace back to the Women’s Social and Political Union (WSPU) in the UK in 1908 and continue to be used worldwide to represent the women’s movement. This year, India Energy Week is being hosted under the patronage of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India, and is jointly organised by the Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry (FIPI) and DMG Events.
