ReNew Founder, Chairman & CEO, Sumant Sinha, in conversation with Sally Bundock of the BBC News, highlighted India’s rising global presence and the BRICS summit’s dedication to collective progress. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has positioned India as a global voice for clean energy adoption and acceleration.

Climate change remains the defining challenge, the very reason ReNew was founded. For India, geopolitics has sharpened the urgency: sovereignty demands a stronger domestic base.

Sumant underscored that most of India’s incremental electricity demand growth now comes from renewables. Over the next 10–15 years, India will steadily reduce dependence on fossil fuels, building resilience and competitiveness through clean energy.

Under PM Modi’s leadership, India is not just adapting, it is shaping the global energy transition.
