Water Conservation For Communities Through Traditional Methods

About The Initiative

With depleting groundwater levels and changes in rainfall patterns over the year, there has been a growing need to conserve water and prevent run-offs especially in the arid and semi-arid regions. conservation of rainwater to prevent run off and to recharge groundwater levels becomes essential.

ReNew, as part of its community engagement program has been working with the local community in Rajasthan to address the water needs of the community by reviving and relying on traditional knowledge of the community to conserve water. As a part of the initiative, ReNew worked with the local communities to enhance the capacity of local water bodies and developed new conservation structures.
