Renew is seeking an ambitious writer and thinker to help define our content strategy and produce compelling content for a new generation of retirees. We’re looking for someone who’s passionate about multiple facets of content, including marketing, product, social, and, most importantly, education. We aspire to be the trusted source for educational material that cuts through the noise and truly empowers our audience to make informed decisions about their retirement.
We’re looking for someone who’s highly motivated and comfortable with constantly learning and responding to the inevitable ebbs and flows of start-up life. In addition to strong writing skills, we want someone who enjoys thinking about all aspects of the business, and isn’t afraid to dive into uncharted waters head first.
As an early member of our team, you will also play a key role in helping to build our organization. As we grow, you’ll have the opportunity to develop the voice of Renew as we become a valued resource and industry leader.
- Develop our content strategy and produce content across marketing, product, social, and education
- Become a reliable retirement “expert”, starting with Medicare
- Drive an increase in traffic and engagement over time
- Help develop our brand voice and ensure consistency across mediums
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and behavior, and identify potential content opportunities
- 2-6 years of experience, ideally including time in a relative space, such as healthcare, education, or a start-up
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment with limited resources
- Sense of humor and humility

10,000 people turn 65 each day, comprising the first digitally-fluent wave of retirees. Our ultimate aim is to become the trusted resource for these baby boomers as they manage their health, wealth, and time into retirement. Our seed investors include Venrock, Expa, and Garrett Camp (Uber’s co-founder), and we’re launching our initial product--a best-in-class Medicare plan selection platform--in summer 2017.
Our team includes engineering and business alumni of Oscar Health, Google, Microsoft, McKinsey, Hunch, eBay, Tag, and The New York Times from schools including MIT, Northwestern, Harvard, Yale, Rutgers, and Wharton. Our headquarters in sunny Venice, CA is on what GQ has called “the coolest block in America.”
